State of emergency declared in Maldives
Abdulla Yameen, president of the Republic of Maldives, on Monday has declared a state of emergency for 15 days in the country.
The decision was announced by Azima Shukoor, the president’s aide days after a court ordered to release political prisoners.
This is the second time that the state of emergency is being declared by the president in Maldives. Earlier, Abdulla Yameen had in November declared a state of emergency in the country.
