Demands yet to be addressed, will sit on hunger strike till death, Sreejith says after meeting Pinarayi
After a meeting with chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan in the evening, Sreejith said that he will go on with hunger strike as his demands regarding the custodial death of his brother Shreejeev are yet to be addressed.
Talking to reporters after the meeting, Sreejith said that the chief minister has assured all possible support to his strike but, the chief minister is of the opinion that he could not do more than what has already been done in the matter.
According to Sreejith, the chief minister could not address his demand to vacate a stay by the court over a complaint filed by him against the police officers who are accused of the custodial death of his brother.
Pinarayi Vijayan stepped into the matter as Sreejith’s strike entered into 766th day. On Monday morning, CPM state council member V Shivankutty informed Sreejith and his family that the chief minister is ready to hold discussion regarding the matter. But, Sreejith stuck to the stand that he is not ready for any discussion until he receives a written assurance about the CBI probe.
After MPs Shashi Tharoor and KC Venugopal informed that the centre has assured a CBI probe into the case, PV Anwar MLA visited Sreejith and asked him for a discussion with the chief minister. Following this, Sreejith, along with his mother and other social media activists, met the chief minister in the evening at his office.
