CPM leadership expresses displeasure over the temple visit of Kadakampally Surendran

The CPM state leadership has expressed its displeasure over the visit of Kadakampally Surendran, minister of Devaswom, to the Guruvayur temple. “It is not good for a person who believes in the ‘dialectical materialism’ to visit a temple”, said MV Govinthan, the party secretariate member.

Kadakampally Surendran had visited Guravayur temple and offered worship on Shrikrishna Jayanthi day which made the party leadership dissatified on the minister’s act. He had also reportedly donated money for ‘annadanam’ in the temple.

Meanwhile, the minister said that he was only doing his responsibility as the minister of devaswom. Those who are not pleased with his work as devaswom minister are behind the raw, he alleged.

The matter is likely to be discussed in the state secretariate meeting which is scheduled to be held tomorrow. The party may not take the rift serious as the by-polls to Vengara constituency is on the cards.
