The Kerala High Court on Monday criticized the government over the unwanted delay in the appointment of the new vigilance director. The court observed that the vigilance remains without guardian.

The court has asked the government to inform within two weeks whether it is willing to appoint the new vigilance director.

The court made the statement while considering a petition filed by opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala seeking the cancellation of a case against him regarding the promotion of former vigilance director.
