Rajnath Singh,Kannanthanam visit Kerala to review relief measures
Union ministers Rajnath Singh and Alphons Kannanthanam on Sunday visited flood-hit Kerala to review the rescue operations and relief measures. Alphons Kannanthanam, union minister of state for tourism, also had accompanied the home minister.
Rajnath Singh is expected to take an aerial survey of the flood-hit areas including Cheruthoni, Idukki dam, Adimaly, Aluva and Perumbavoor, which are the most affected areas.
Union ministers were received by the state revenue minister E Chandrashekharan, state police chief Loknath Behera, revenue additional chief secretary P H Kurian, Ernakulam district collector Mohammed Y Safirulla, and Ernakulam Rural SP Rahul R Nair at the Cochin International Airport.
After landing in cochin, the central team met chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan, state minister E Chandrashekharan, VS Sunil Kumar and Mathew T Thomas, and chief secretary Tom Jose.
