As the state is on an attempt to stand on its foot after the deadly deluge, Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Sunday left for U.S for his treatment. Before leaving the country, the chief minister met Governor P Sadasivam to inform him about his absence from the country. The trip that was scheduled for the month of August was postponed in the wake of the floods.

The chief minister, who will receive treatment from Mayo Clinic, a popular clinic in U.S, left from Thiruvananthapuram airport at around 4.40 in the morning. He is expected to receive a two-week long treatment from U.S.

The Chief Minister’s Office had earlier informed that the chief minister will be leaving on Monday but the plan was changed later. Meanwhile, Minister EP Jayarajan is likely to preside over the cabinet meeting scheduled for next week.
