CPM leader and MLA from Shornur, PK Shashi has been accused of a sexual abuse complaint. The complaint against the MLA was lodged by a woman leader of the youth wing of CPM, DyFI, from Palakkad district. In her complaint filed with the party leadership, the DyFI leader accused PK Shashi of physically abusing her. CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury has confirmed that a complaint in relation with the incident has been received.
Meanwhile, the accused MLA has alleged a planned conspiracy behind the complaint filed against him. It was a month earlier that the woman lodged a complaint with the party leadership that the MLA abused her at CPM’s area committee office at Mannarkkad in Palakkad district. The complaint said that the woman was compelled for physical interaction and phone sex.
Receiving the complaint, CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury has directed the state committee to look into the matter. Meanwhile, CPM Palakkad district secretary CK Rajendran claimed that he has no idea about the allegation against the MLA. CPM state leaders from the district are also of the same opinion. The woman approached the national leaders with her complaint after no action was taken against the MLA even after the complaint was filed with CPM district and state leaderships.
